Of course, there are so many delicious ways to eat avocados. One of my favourites is guacamole. The simple dip that’s healthy as well as delicious. Trust me, you just can’t stop eating this. Just because it’s so much better than your average avocado dip.

Avocado raita or Indian guacamole for all your dipping needs

In fact, this recipe is inspired by the classic guacamole . Start with scooping out the gorgeous green flesh of avocados. Here you have two options. One, process avocados into a smooth paste in your food processor. Two, mash them in your mortar and pestle. Well, I prefer the second option as I really love biting into the small bits of avocados in the dip. To be exact, for a chunky dip, use your mortar and pestle.

Once you have mashed or puréed the avocados to your liking, add the rest of the ingredients that’s going to make this Indian guacamole taste amazing. This includes onions, tomatoes, green chilies and a splash of lemon juice. Make sure you chop the veggies finely, and don’t forget to season the dip.

Now, the ingredients that you’ll need to transform the dip into lip-smacking raita. Raita is actually a yogurt dip usually served with Indian meal. In this recipe, avocado is the core ingredient to create a creamy, chunky raita. To do this, you’ll need to stir in few tablespoons of natural yogurt. And a sprinkle of ground cumin will add that extra touch of spice.

Finally, give this Indian guacamole a good stir. Dip in crackers, veggie sticks etc and indulge in this creamy dip.
