Caramel apple danish with puff pastry. Flaky, buttery pastries filled with golden sweet caramel and apple slices. The puff pastry brings in the bakery style classic Danish crispness and offers an easier alternative to traditional laminated pastries. Cozy, indulgent and easy to make at home!

Why I Love This Easy Danish Pastry
Whether you are making an after dinner treat or planning a magnificent dessert for your next gathering, a simple, elegant dish always hits the spot without the complications of following a detailed dessert recipe. And while I totally agree that the fancy fine dining desserts are in a different league, creating a mesmerizing dessert at home is much easier than you think. The best part? You don’t have to buy exotic ingredients to attain the exceptional decadence, especially when you can create beautiful desserts with seasonal fruits.
These apple treats take the traditional laminated Danish pastry to the easiest level with the help of puff pastry. Again, the recipe is beginner-friendly and totally versatile making it perfect for brunch or dessert. Puff pastry acts as the base and the caramel sauce sweetens the apples to another level. And in this recipe, I’ll be adding jaggery caramel to the pastries. The egg wash brings in the golden crisp edges for bakery-style treats.
Key Ingredients In Caramel Apple Danish

- Puff pastry - Store bought or homemade.
- Caramel - Choose your favorite, regular caramel, salted caramel or jaggery caramel.
- Apples - Pink lady, honey crisp or Granny Smith.
How To Make Caramel Apple Danish
Prepare the filling - First, the caramel sauce. I have opted for jaggery caramel in this recipe, however, salted caramel sauce is also a favorite. Also, make sure to core and slice all the apples as thin as possible.

Shape the pastry - There are so many ways to shape danish pastries, and I have opted for an intricate diamond design that’s so easy to learn. Simply filling the pastries with caramel sauce and apples, and bake until golden. I also like to add a light drizzle of extra decadent caramel sauce just before serving.
