With a little know-how, you can literally turn anything into a burger. Let me tell you, it’s totally magical. The spread, patties, pickles, veggies - you can customize each and every element to create your favorite. Imagine biting into the fast food version of a loaded burger, it’s pure indulgence. Now, think whipping up this deliciousness at home.
With this spiced burger recipe, you can create your favorites in your own kitchen without the addition of any nasties. The patties are inspired by traditional Indian cutlets featuring crumbed deep fried patties made with chicken, meat or veggies. The simple mayo is spiked with a little sriracha , and onions take the place of pickles in this recipe. Again, the onions are also specially curated to bring in the classic flavors of lachha pyaz that are crispy, tangy and absolutely delicious. And the pillowy soft brioche buns bring all the elements together. Trust me, this is going to be the burger of your dreams.
Key Ingredients In Masala Burger

- Burger buns - Brioche buns are preferred, but you can use your favorite.
- Spicy mayonnaise - The quintessential sauce for these burgers.
- Onions - Red onions get a makeover with a touch of chat masala.
- Patties or cutlets - Choose from veggie, chicken or meat.
How To Make Masala Burger
Make the patties - The patties used in this recipe are the classic Indian cutlets. They are so customisable, you can make it with veggies, tuna, chicken or meat. All you need to do is make patties, coat in breadcrumbs, and deep fry until golden. You can even make them ahead of time and freeze.

Prep onions - I highly recommend using lachha pyaz in this recipe, onion rings spiced with chat masala. However, you can opt for your favorite pickled onions.
Assemble burgers - Start with adding plenty of spicy mayo to the bottom burger bun. Top with lettuce. Then goes the patty and plenty of spiced crispy onions. And finally the top burger bun.
